But her bright blue eyes were calm, even when her sixteen year old brother yelled at her.

“All I need is to reduce this number,” She said, pointing to her paper, as she added “You don’t have to yell, Peter.”

Peter shook his head. “Get out. Peter could tell he’d gone too far. He could hear her bawling on her bed. Yelling, “I just asked for help, can’t he do that one tiny thing?”

All Peter could do was hear the pain in Pearl’s voice.

Of course Peter loved his sister. She said that she wants to be a writer, and a youtuber. Of course she is eleven now. But she’s almost done with her first book, called A Drop Of Water Is A Pond. She is a talented writer, Peter was sure of that. And he knew that she was done with it.

So, he would use up all his money to get it published. Peter knew that was what Pearl always dreamed of.

“OMG! Thank you soooooo much Peter! How could I ever repay you?” Pearl said after their interview with the publisher.

All Peter could do was smile. If his sister was happy so was he. Even the other way around, if Pearl was sad so was Peter. It was like nothing could separate them. Two peas in a pod.

Peter was going to buy a new PC for his youtubing set, but he thought it was selfish of him, so he made Pearl’s biggest dream come true.

As they walked down town, Peter thought if he bought his PC.

Gaming, youtubing, streaming. Pearl is waiting for her dream to come true, but it doesn’t. Pearl thinks of how selfish Peter was, and is. And Always will be.

Now their house was in sight. The red oak door was opened, and standing in the doorway, was their loving mother.

After everyone was asleep, Peter was still up, watching youtube videos. He sniffed. Hmmmm. His parents rushed into his bedroom.

“What’s going on?” Peter’s mom half yelled. Nothing is going to happen to this happy family, so you’re safe. No need to worry. Oh, and did I mention that you’re safe?” Dad laughed. And Peter couldn’t tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

As Peter’s parents left the room he saw a spark. Something that looked like fire. But Dad just burned popcorn… Or did he?

The fire grew and grew until the fire alarm went off.

Peter knew the drill. He jumped up, and grabbed his phone, and his favorite stuffed animal. A dragon he named after Pearl. Peter called it

White Pearl. Because of her white scales. He ran out the door. But it was blocked, so he made his way toward the window. The fire grew and was along the side of the house.Peter heard Mom scream. Peter coughed and spatted the smoke from his lungs. He saw Dad and Mom outside. So he tried to unlatch the window and pull on the lever that would pull up the window and open it. It wouldn’t budge! Oh come on! Not now. Peter’s head thumped from the smoke. He jabed at the latch with all his might. And he heard just the tiniest squeak and the window opened just enough for him to squeeze through. He sat on the windowsill. He was scared. Scared for his sister, for his dad, mom. He mustered all his strength and jumped out the window. As he sored, Peter could’ve sworn he saw a man in Pearl’s bedroom! As the flames engulfed Peter he fell and darkness flooded over him.

Peter’s eyes fluttered open.

“Mom, Dad, is everyone OK?” He asked. Tears streamed down Mom’s cheek, and onto the charred ground. While Dad just shook his head.

Then the truth flooded over Peter.

Pearl never made it out of the house!

Chapter 4 The Sad Truth

Peter fell to his knees. And all of the pain came to his head as he realized his sister was dead. What am I going to do now? Footsteps rushed as another pair of legs found their way in front of Peter.

Emma. Peter’s girlfriend, a popular girl, many possibilities for a great future.

“What am I going to do now?” Peter asked himself, as tears streaked his face.

“Nah, Nah. Nope. Peter, you have so many people who love you, I mean duh. We’ll miss you sister. One hundred percent. We all love young Pearl. He sat up and brushed the tears away from his face. As Peter walked to the house, he saw something that was very odd. A round white ball sat in the middle of the burned down house, still alive and somehow not burned down with the rest of the belongings.

“What the heck! Look at this!” Peter exclaimed. He traced the round egg like thing in his hand. Emma walks and takes Peter’s hand.

David, another great friend of Peter, comes up and says hi.

“¡Hola hermano!” David said. His accent is thick with spanish.

“Oh crap.” David looks at the now charred house. He covers his mouth with his hand. His eyes lock with Emma’s, “It’s time.” David says.

Confusion tackles with fear in Peter’s head. “Wait, wait, wait. I’m confused.”

“Of course you are Peter, but it’s time that you met Pearl’s world.” Emma replied, “take my hand.” Peter grabbed Emma’s hand and David’s. She pressed a button on her favorite bracelet that she has worn for three years now. It had pink charms, and light blue bands. There was a charm that held a round yellow sun-like shape. And it had a white dragon claw.

“Wait what is that you just pressed on your bracelet?” Peter asked Emma.

“Calm down Pete. I know you have a lot of questions but they will be answered. Hold on tight!” Emma yelled.

Like the speed of light Emma, David, and Peter were rushed into the thin air and Peter could see the black house no more.

Chapter 5 Sakarya

They fell on a hill, with grassy pastures surrounding them.

“GAH!” Yelled David, “I will n-e-v-e-r get used to that landing.”

Emma fell like a graceful swan flying on the pure clear water. Oh and to mention, we have…DRAGONS!” Isabella trew down a ball, and out came a dragon! He lives in Lake Blue, with all the other Water Dragons.”

Hello. Peter jumped.Did you know that some dragons are smarter than humans? It felt painful, but Peter thought it meant freedom.

Freedom was what Peter always wanted. Freedom. Freedom of speech, freedom of everything. He thought about the Bill of Rights.

Where people got their independence. Where they got their love for one another. Peter would study the Bill of Rights at school for Social Studies. In the Bill, it said where people can come into your house, But they have to have a warrant. That’s why Peter wanted to be a cop.

To learn to protect his people and to just barge into homes. Of course Peter would go there someday. But when?

That was his ultimate question. When will he join his sister? Where will he go? In a deep, dark place where only evil lies? Or will he go to the place where there is endless happiness? He had so many questions that someday will be answered. He had no idea when, what or where. Peter will see his sister again.
